Candidates go through HUET, Sea Survival and water winching in conditions that they could face in real life. We provide South East Asia and the Pacific’s most realistic training to ensure that each candidate is comfortable and confident in the skill sets they have been trained in order to increase the chances of surviving an overwater air incident.
ACE HUET Safety Diver Requirements
Qualifications:
- ACE HUET Safety Diver Requirements
- First Aid HLTAID003
- CPR HLTAID001
- AED HLTAID002
- Oxygen Administrator
- Construction white card
- Dive Medical AS2299.3
- Dive professional insurance
- TAE
HUET Safety Diver Duties
- The role of the safety diver is to assist the instructor with trainees and work as an intermediary for signals between the instructor and the Water Safety Officer (WSO/Dive Supervisor).
- The safety diver will comply with any directions given by the Lead Instructor (LI), Facility Manager or Water Safety Officer (WSO/Dive Supervisor), if they agree it is safe to do and the request is within the restraints of their professional training.
- Safety divers are to hold current qualifications as per Job Description
- Safety divers must ensure they maintain the currency of their AS 2299 Occupational Diving Medical (valid for 12 months from the date of issue.)
- Safety divers are to be certified by the HUET Manager, as competent in rescue procedures utilising the METSTM. Divers will be trained as ERDI HUET safety Divers
- Safety divers must annually read and sign the Toll OPM.
- Safety Divers must have annually completed and passed the Toll Diver Operational Standards exam. All questions must be answered correctly for a satisfactory result.
- Safety Divers must have had a check and training evaluation completed by the Dive Supervisor within 12 months to remain current.
- Ensuring the safety of trainees, Instructors, and all other personnel in the water during practical underwater escape sequences.
- Divers are not to entre METS30 during HUET Course
- Divers are not to go under the METS30 During training, Equipment is provided
- Correct removal and replacement of exits.
- Assist course Instructors if required.
- Initiate Safety Raise if required.
- Surface communication with the Water Safety Officer.
- Correct diving procedures IAW Toll OPM and Workplace Health & Safety.
- Attend daily toolbox discussion covering the daily activities with the
